Thank you for visiting my campaign site. Note that the site is a work in progress, so come back often to see what’s new as I campaign to be your next Dane County Treasurer.
Dane County taxpayers deserve fair treatment and strong leadership in the Treasurer’s office, and that’s why I’m running. I have 16 years of public service as a county board supervisor and former village board member. I’m a serious, detail-oriented, policy-driven leader who has a long record of standing strong for those I serve just as I did when I stood up for Dane County residents concerned about risks posed by Enbridge Pipeline’s plans to triple the amount of tar sands oil flowing through the county. I know county and local government and I know how to collaborate with stakeholders to get things done.
Professionally for nearly 20 years as a consultant I’ve been developing and maintaining billion-dollar public financing systems. Prior to that I was the business manager for a non-profit organization. My work has consistently produced increased productivity and decreased staffing demands.
The decision to run against an incumbent Democrat is not one that I take lightly. However, I have serious concerns about the current Treasurer and the poor judgement and unfinished work that he has demonstrated time and time again.
The Treasurer plays an extremely important role in county government. In nearly every area the incumbent has failed to fulfill his duties. But most concerning is that my opponent has treated taxpayers unfairly and undermined the trust in the tax system – this includes allowing a developer to profit from not paying his property taxes by letting him bid on the very properties he lost due to unpaid taxes. Additionally, he excluded City of Madison residents from a notification of lottery tax credit eligibility. This will not happen on my watch. I will restore the integrity of the tax system and treat all taxpayers fairly.
Please explore this website to read more about me, my plans to serve you and why State Senator Mark Miller and more than 50 other state and local leaders have endorsed me to be your next Dane County Treasurer.
Thank you for being an informed voter in this important primary election. I ask for your vote on August 9th.
